‘Pasar Pusat’ or known as ‘Pasar Payang’ is one of the famous tourist destinations in Kuala Terengganu. Its offer variety types of traditional craft which are batik, silk, songket, brocade and metal products as well as the fresh vegetables those are sold with the reasonable prices.

  From this market, tourist can know the culture that usually the local people do and how they bargain the price to get the lower prices. For the tips, tourist is advised to try the special food that is offered at this place which is ‘Keropok lekor’ and believe me that you will addict with it because it's so delicious and it is the one of food that famous in Kuala Terengganu. Before I forget, how the tourist can get into this market? It can either by taxi or walking because this market is situated at the center of  Kuala Terengganu and it can make ease for the tourist to get there.



Islamic Civilization Park or 'Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI)
Islamic Civilization Park is an interactive adventure Islamic monument in the world. This park is located on the island of Wan Man, Kuala Terengganu. Did you know that ‘Crystal mosque’ is the icon of the Islamic Civilization Park as well as the new landmark for Kuala Terengganu. This mosque was officially opened by His Majesty, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin on February 8, 2008 It provides with educational and informative entertainment about the world Islamic destination.  As you go to this park, the main attraction that you can see is the National Mosque (Malaysia), the Dome of the Rock (Palestine), ‘Masjidil Haram’ (Saudi Arabia), Al-Hambra Citadel (Spain) as well as Taj Mahal (India). Not just that, it also has Mimbar Kalyan (Uzbekistan), Makam Abu Nasr (Afghanistan), Mimbar Berputar Samarra (Iraq), Masjid Mohd Ali (Kaherah), Masjid Besar Qairawan (Tunisia), Masjid Besar Agadez (Nigeria), Aleppo Citadel (Syria), Masjid Kul Syarif (Russia) as well as Mimbar Xian, China.

Lastly, Islamic Civilization Park is divided into two zones which is the Islamic Civilization Park Complex and the Public Zone.

For the transportation, the tourist can use either public transportation, taxi nor boat miners. The tourist can use the boat jetty miners from ‘jeti Shahbandar’ to ‘jeti Tok Paloh’.
The Chinese have been living harmoniously and peacefully with the majority Malays in the state. The buildings have been declared a heritage site by the United Nation’s UNESCO under its World Monument Watch Program to ensure beautification and preservation of this Pre-colonial heritage significance.

 You must visit the Kg. China when you are in Kuala Terengganu and try spending time walking along the streets with your family and friends, feel the atmosphere, the distant chatter that fills the air with the pungent smell of spices and appreciates the colorful and eclectic architecture with each motif articulates the house owner’s hopes for longevity, abundance, good luck and offspring.

Popular food in Terengganu

There are some food that quite popular in Terengganu. 

The most popular food is keropok lekor. There are three types of keropok, mainly keropok lekor (resembling sausage, boiled chewy ones), keropok goreng (also resembling sausage but fried chewy ones) and keropok keping (sliced, sun-dried and fried). Kampong Losong are one of the place that popular in producing keropok lekor. Usually, foreigner will visit this place to see how they make keropok lekor. Keropok lekor is quite cheap in Terengganu because easy to get the source (fish meat) since it near to the sea. At Kampong Losong, visitor can choose either boiled or fried keropok lekor.

Besides keropok lekor, Nasi Dagang also quite popular in Terengganu. Nasi Dagang is a rice specialty of Terengganu. Usually, nasi dagang usually eaten with side dishes of tuna curry, pickled cucumber and carrot. Local ingredients are used to make a Nasi Dagang.  ‘Dagang’ practically means going travelling and in those days most are of trading trips. It is practical to pack along the Nasi Dagang to be eaten along the way.

Next is kuih Cik Mek Molek. Kuih Cik Mek Molek is a fried mashed sweet potato with sugary fillings in the inside. The term ‘Cik mek molek‘ is refer to pretty young lady. Make sure not to eat while its still hot because the sugary filling will burn your mouth. Kuih Cik Mek Molek is suitable to eat during breakfast and tea time.

Satar is a snack made ​​from fish. It is a special dish of Terengganu. It is a mixture of pounded fish, pepper and ginger wrapped in banana leaves cone shaped. 
Usually, Satar easy to get at the market. Most famous are the satar from Kuala Kemaman. Through word of mouth, the place is flocked by locals as well as visitors from other states to get a taste of this delicious delicacy complete with coconut drinks. The stalls are actually the extension of villager’s house and visitors can also get a taste of slow-paced traditional way of life.

The islands that embraces the state

The Emerald Island In Malaysia - Pulau Redang

Situated 50km off the coast, Redang Island is the most developed in Terengganu. One Of The Most Beautiful Island In The World - Pulau Perhentian 
A trip to these lush and exotic tropical twin islands is a must for all nature lovers and those who enjoy scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, wind surfing, sailing, boating and canoeing. Surrounded by white sandy beaches, warm sapphire blue waters and colourful coral garden, Perhentian Island is renowned as one of Malaysia's marine paradise and is a part of the National Marine Park of Malaysia. For the passive, do enjoy watching turtles lay eggs or feeding the vibrant coloured fish or just sitting back and enjoy the sun and breeze at the Three Coves Bay. Pulau Perhentian is reachable from Kuala Besut Tourist Jetty and the 21km journey by speedboat takes 1.5 hours.

Pretty Little Island With Candat Sotong Activity - Pulau Kapas & Pulau Gemia
Kapas and Gemia Islands are two small islands separated by a narrow strait off the coast of Marang District. Only 6km away, it takes 10 minutes by speedboat to reach the island. Known specifically for squid fishing, guests can while away the time pulling in squids using nylon lines in lighted boats at night. As part of the Marine Park, guests can enjoy the dazzling marine life and superb coral formations. Sea eagles, reef herons, tern and the endangered giant leatherback turtles come to rest on the islands every year. The rugged hill terrain invited the adventurous to test their rock-climbing skills or just watching the birds.
